Shining Light Ministries Update

For the last month I have been traveling a lot. We had a meeting in Mongola which is one of the churches that we started about 150 km from our home and people came from the surrounding villages where we also started churches. The meetings were very successful! We had hundreds attending and many were touch by God's word! We are starting two new churches in April and another one in May. We have a new pastor that is working with us in Zambia, his name is Lubasi. He translated for me shortly after coming to Zambia and now is coming to work with us full-time so that I can travel more to minister in other places, like our recent trip to Tanzania. The drought continues to be a problem here, there is a shortage of water in the villages in the western provence. We are believing God to be able to drill wells for the churches we have started. We have put a hand pump in at Mongola and there are wells at Libaba and Kasima. But Litoma, Sikuyu, Lisheko, and Nmakongolo do not have good wells. For example, the well in sikuyu is giving less than 20 gallons of water a day. For a village of more than 100 people, that is less than 10 cups of water a day per person for drinking, cooking, bathing, and cleaning. Drilling a well in these areas will cost about $6,000 each.

In April, I went to Tanzania and did a seminar at a church in Dar es Salaam in a new church that I had not ministered in before. They heard about me and invited me to come and preach in their church. We had a planned a 3-day seminar that was extended because the pastors felt that the messages they were receiving were changing the lives of their members. They have 20 church branches, and they would like me to work with them to teach and train their pastors. I also was invited to do a seminar in a large church in Moshi, with about 1,000 members. We had a 3-day seminar there and they have asked me to come back in August and have a meeting for their church branches (they have 45 churches.)

Traveling has been quite tiring, I spent more than 10 days on the road in the last 30 days and will be traveling more this month, traveling mostly by bus. It is good to be ministering in Tanzania again since I speak Swahili and I do not need to use an interpreter. I have been meeting with pastors that I have know from when I used to live here in Tanzania. It’s been good to see the old faces of friends. .

In April, we also received shipments from the U.S. that I sent in November when I was back in the states, which included some books to distribute and computers for our office.

We are believing God for a motorcycle to help our new assisting pastor to be able to travel to the village churches on his own. We found a motorcycle for $1500.

I hope you have a blessed resurrection weekend. My prayers are with you, and I also ask that you pray for me as you receive this letter.

God Bless You.
